Join us at the cozy Grayhaven for an evening of reading from four talented local writers. About the authors:

Joe Hall is a writer, researcher, and deprofessionalized academic. He is the author of three collections of poetry: Someone’s Utopia, The Devotional Poems, and Pigafetta Is My Wife (Black Ocean 2013 & 2010). With Chad Hardy, he co-authored The Container Store Vols I & II (SpringGun 2012). With Cheryl Quimba, he co-authored May I Softly Walk (Poetry Crush 2014). With Ryan Kaveh Sheldon and Angela Veronica Wong, he runs Hostile Books, a publishing collective dedicated to radical materiality.

Gina Keicher is the author of the poetry collection Wilderness Champion (Gold Wake Press) and two chapbooks from Dancing Girl Press–Here Is My Adventure I Call it Alone (2015) and Ars Herzogica (2018). Her writing has appeared in various print and online publications. Poems have been included on Verse Daily and in the Best of the Net Anthology. Gina graduated from Syracuse University’s MFA program in Creative Writing, where she was the Lou Reed/Delmore Schwartz Scholar. Currently, she is an associate editor for Black Lawrence Press.

Jennifer Savran Kelly writes, binds books, and works as a production editor at Cornell University Press. She’s written for film and print, and her fiction has appeared in FLAPPERHOUSE, Green Mountains Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, Grist: A Journal of the Literary Arts (Online Companion), and elsewhere. She was honored to receive a 2018 grant from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund for her novel-in-progress Endpapers.

Jacob White is the author of the story collection Being Dead in South Carolina, and his fiction and essays have appeared or are forthcoming in places like Prairie Schooner, The Georgia Review, Crazyhorse, Juked, The Literary Review, Shenandoah, Cimarron Review, Salt Hill , Denver Quarterly, and The Sewanee Review, from whom he received the Andrew Lytle Prize. He has received honorable mentions in both Best American Short Stories and The Pushcart Prize anthologies, as well as the Donald Barthelme Memorial Fellowship in Fiction from the University of Houston and the Father William Ralston Fellowship from The Sewanee Writers’ Conference. He co-edited Green Mountains Review from 2011-2013, lives in Ithaca, and recommends Cottage 9.

December Gallery Night at Grayhaven Motel

December Gallery Night @ Grayhaven Motel 

Join us Friday December 7th 2018 from 5pm – 9pm. December’s exhibition will showcase local student art work from TC3 and LACS. 

The TC3 work has been curated by Harry Littell and showcases student photography work.

The LACS show has been curated by Izabelle Grimm and presents a variety of video, sculpture and photography all exploring a central theme.

Taxidermy Workshop

Learn the art of taxidermy in a 4 hour workshop hosted by Fabrica Taxidermy at the Grayhaven Motel this Saturday November 17th.  All workshops are taught by local taxidermist Rachel Schlass whose clients include institutions such as the Cornell University Museum of Vertebrates, the Cayuga Nature Center, and the Paleontological Research Institute.

There are only THREE spots left for Saturday’s small mammal taxidermy workshop! Fabrica Taxidermy will be teaching skinning, fleshing, tanning, body wrapping and mounting using chipmunk specimens. These classes are limited to 4 students, and Friday’s workshop has already sold out!

All ages are welcome. Students that are 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult that can assist where needed.

Hi-Bar Chocolate

Murder Mystery & Dinner

Tickets include two seats at a farm to table dinner curated by Stone Bend Farm and participation in a murder mystery on Saturday Oct. 27th. Buried Acorn Brewing will be on site and dinner is sure to be show stopping – 5 courses of the best that our region has to offer. 
 

The event takes place here at the Grayhaven, a vintage motel on 11 acres in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State. Guests will meet in the lobby for drinks and check in. Dinner, dessert and mystery will follow in the guest lounge and dining room. 

These tickets are for dinner, drinks & murder mystery participation only. Please leave a note in the comments section when booking if you would like a vegetarian entree.
