The first day of spring really brought sunshine and warmth to Ithaca. Eager for the new season, we are thrilled to shed our winter coats!

Four Part Bookbinding Series @ Grayhaven Motel,
w/ Laura Rowley of Illuminated Press 

Join us for a sparkling new class series led by the talented Laura Rowley of Illuminated Press! If you’ve been interested in learning bookbinding, if there’s a more advanced technique you’d like to try, or if you’re looking for a new craft, these classes are a wonderful opportunity. The environment is intimate, comfortable and relaxed. Take the entire series or pick a class à la cart.

Our MidWeek Traveler special is still kicking through May 18th.

Upcoming Events at the Grayhaven Motel / Ithaca, NY!

Saturday + Sunday April 1 + 2The Factory Art Market is at it again with Sprinkle in Artists’ Alley. Local artists, makers + fantastic food vendors delight your senses from 10a – 4p each day.

Saturday, April 8th: Catch one of two performances of Giselle from our local Ithaca Ballet, presented at The State Theater downtown.

Friday, April 14th + Saturday, April 15th: Basic Carpentry Skills 101 at the Hammerstone School of Carpentry for Women! Classes from 9-5 each day with a lunch option.

Saturday, April 15th: The uniquely talented + dedicated NYS Baroque performs at our lovely local Unitarian church in downtown Ithaca. Marcella/Marcello features Cantatas and instrumental music by Benedetto Marcello and his wife Rosanna Scalfi Marcello…PLUS, a fascinating story! Performance begins at 7:30; pre-concert talk at 6:45.

Wednesday, April 19th: Father John Misty is headlining at The State Theater. Doors open at 7pm. Stay a few nights this week and enjoy Grayhaven’s MidWeek Traveler Special!

If you’re looking for a fun weekend away, any weekend is a good one to visit the Finger Lakes. Here are our April suggestions.

Recommended itinerary for April 13th -16th:

  • THURSDAY: Check in, relax and enjoy dinner at nearby Ithaca Beer Company. Afterwards, wind down in your room with chamomile tea from our Teatime Kit + get a good night’s sleep.
  • FRIDAY + SATURDAY: Start the day in our lounge for coffee and a continental breakfast. Grab an extra fruit + grain bar to fortify you for your first day of Basic Carpentry Skills 101 at the Hammerstone School of Carpentry for Women! Classes from 9a – 5p each day include a lunch option alongside phenomenal guidance and community. Head back to your room for a hot bath (and some local wine from our menu) to ease your hard-working muscles!
  • SUNDAY: Drink coffee, read the Sunday NYTimes and relax in the lounge by our wood stove before you check out by 11am. You could always head to a hearty brunch at Mix Ithaca before you leave town, too (just down the way from us)!

Recommended itinerary for April 27th – 30th:

  • THURSDAY: Check in and grab an early dinner at Thai Basil across the street from The State Theater where you’ll go to see the iconic Indigo Girls play! Still rocking, this show features Bitch (who certainly deserves her own mention) as the opener! Doors open at 6:30. 
  • FRIDAY: After breakfast, take a stroll (or bike ride) around the close-by Cayuga Waterfront Trail. If you begin at the Cass Park trailhead, you’ll catch a glimpse of where you’ll be later on in the evening…Enjoy some chill time after your excursion before your dinner at Maxie’s Supper Club + Oyster Bar before heading to The Hangar Theater for Opera Ithaca’s performance of Orpheus! Showing this weekend only.
  • SATURDAY: Check out and try breakfast/brunch at Milkstand Ithaca – they open every day at 8am! Leaving on Saturday may mean you get to rest all day Sunday, nestled in at home 😉
