With: Laura Rowley, bookbinding faculty member, RIT, and Katie Marks, assistant professor of writing, Ithaca College.
In this bookmaking and writing workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore the ways they feel bound in their own lives, bodies, or minds, and to consider how to release those things and what they would like to be tied to instead. Through a ritual fusion of bookbinding, writing prompts, art, design, meditation, and movement, we will explore these themes and questions about what we would like to invoke and what we would like to let go of.
Participants are encouraged to bring writing utensils, photos, collage elements, decorative papers, threads, and mementos to incorporate into their work. All other supplies and tools will be provided. This workshop is intended for people 16 and older.
Cost: $175. There are a limited number of scholarships available, based on need and upon request. Please email laurakayrowley@gmail.com
