Here at Grayhaven we are continuing to admire Keith Millman’s show, Pictures from My Boat. Stop by during office hours to see Keith’s show through January 27th.

Saturday, January 28th: Winter Tree ID Walk from 2-3pm at the Cayuga Nature Center (this one seems more geared towards adults).  

Anywintertime: Take a detour to go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing on the trails at Cayuga Nature Center. Bonus points: follow the All Peoples Trail + bring a Grayhaven Charcuterie Kit to enjoy by Denison Falls! Visit www.grayhavenmotel.com for more information on booking and events!

If you’re looking for a fun weekend away, any weekend is a good one to visit the Finger Lakes. Here are our January suggestions.

Recommended weekend itinerary for January:

FRIDAY: Start at the Gallery at South Hill to view Reid Palmer’s “Black + White”, head down the hill and park near the commons, your next stop is a cocktail, or mocktail(!), at the Watershed before  popping into the SOAG to view Looking Forward Looking Back, an exhibit featuring artworks from 13 member artists. Now it’s time for dinner, maybe you’ve already made a reservation at local favorite Moosewood, or are more of the walk in kind of diner, Mia.

SATURDAY: Bundle up + start the day at the Ithaca Farmer’s Market, then head to the Mullestein Winter Garden at Cornell Botanical Garden to view what horticultural beauty can thrive in a northern winter. If you’re feeling up for a winter hike, continue across the road to the F.R. Newman Arboretum (so peaceful in winter!).

SUNDAY: Drink coffee and read the Sunday NYTimes in the lounge by our wood stove. Check out at 11am and head to brunch at StoneBend Farm, offered from 10am on! 

Any morning, FRIDAY – SUNDAY!: Drink coffee and read the NYTimes in the lounge by our wood stove. Check out at 11am and head to brunch at Cafe DeWitt downtown and shop a little in the DeWitt Mall (an historical building that used to be a school!).
