Inlet Valley Arts Center is pleased to offer a limited number of heavily subsidized artist retreats this winter. Rooted in Eyevee’s mission of supporting artists directly, these retreats are designed to create space for learning and experimentation.

Located at the historic Grayhaven Motel, these retreats provide artists across many disciplines—including visual arts, music, and theater—with the quiet, uninhibited space and supportive creative environment needed to develop new work and push the boundaries of their craft.

Availability: January 18 – March 6, 2026

Residency Options:

• 5-Night Midweek: $375 + tax (Sunday – Friday)
• 3-Night Weekend: $255 + tax (Friday – Monday)

The Residency Experience 

Residents are housed in private Grayhaven Motel accommodations featuring a full kitchen or kitchenette and a private bathroom. Your stay is designed for uninterrupted practice and includes:

• Dedicated Workspace: Access to a private or semi-private studio space.
• IVAC Resources: Use of all Arts Center equipment and a personalized tour/orientation with an art center liaison.
• The Grounds: 15 acres of walking trails and quiet landscapes for reflection.
• Amenities: High-speed wireless internet, bedding, shampoo, soap, and towels provided.

Artist Responsibilities

To keep these retreats subsidized and focused, we ask that artists provide:

• Provisions: All groceries and meals.
• Materials: All supplies, equipment, and materials specific to your practice.
• Travel: Transportation to and from Grayhaven Motel.

Note: Grayhaven is accessible via the TCAT Bus (Route 67) and is a short ride from the Ithaca bus terminal (service from NYC, Philly, etc.). Taxis and ride shares are readily available.

Retreat Guidelines

• Creative Immersion: To maintain a focused environment, partners and pets are not permitted.
• Studio Integrity: All “wet” media (paints, dyes, etc.) must be used in the provided studio space only, not in sleeping accommodations.
• Booking: Payment is required in full at the time of booking confirmation.
